Currently I am developing wooden furniture that is light in weight in order to be respectful of sustainable design concerns.   Aircraft plywood, shaped by the "tortured" plywood method used in kayak construction, gives the Strake Chair its light weight and strength.

The 3-4-5 Table and the TriChair are made from recycled urban trees and rely on tetrahedral construction to maximize the strength of the slender wooden elements.

In addition to my furniture design work, I teach in the College of Architecture of the Illinois Institute of Technology.
